Helping people make their lives work
The Julia West House
522 SW 13th Avenue   Portland  OR

Julia West House is a place where residents of downtown Portland become part of a community. At the Julia West House, each person is accorded dignity and every individual is recognized for being unique.

“When I’m here I feel like I can be a better person,” is how one of our guests puts it.

Julia West House offers hospitality and a place to be during the day. We offer guests opportunities to learn, become self-sufficient, improve their futures, and restore their tomorrows by gaining new skills.

As another guest said, “At the Julia West House they don't point fingers, they extend a hand."

Our purpose is to provide a civil, safe, supportive environment.  We don't offer meals, or clothing, or beds. Others do those things well. What we do best is engage our guess and build trusting relationships. We help our guests make their lives work.
